Our History History may be our greatest asset at Prokop Labs. With more than 10 years under our belt, we have a rare sense of perspective on consumer products. We've seen countless revolutions in products—in fact, we engineered a few of them ourselves—as well as numerous shifts in market trends. Through it all we've stayed ahead of the curve and on top of the game. It's this history that allows us to look on the past with pride and to the future with a thrilling sense of possibility. The Prokop Labs story begins in the early 1990s, when personal computers became a business requirement which resulted in a significant increase in the rate of carpal tunnel syndrome. More and more people were getting injured while working on computer keyboards. A former Microsoft Software Program Manager, had an idea: "Wouldn't it be great, if we could make a more comfortable wristrest or mousepad which provided a cool gel to help reduce swelling" So, he created the world's first gel filled thermally conductive computer wristrest. They called their invention Gel-eez, and their fledgling company Prokop Labs was launched. Our Brands Gel-eez quickly became standard equipment for computer users worldwide. But for Prokop Labs it was just the beginning. During the past two decades, the company has grown into a family of brands, offering a wide variety of consumer products and expanding into new markets. These brands include Gel-eez, maker of gel filled computer accessories; Golden Grips, specializing in ergonomic cutlery; RideVibes, manufacturer of removable headphone speakers for snow board helmets and winter sports; JelliRolls, a pioneer in innovative ergonomic equipment; and Copper Ion™, specializing in Copper covered gardening tools.
